Supporting businesses affected by the floods

Thomasons has long been the go-to in cases of disaster and our office in Manchester is currently overseeing several cases of remedial projects following last December’s devastating floods in northern England.

The work spans Leeds, York and Lancaster city centres as well as towns in Cumbria and West Yorkshire, which all saw the worst flooding in decades.

Projects include three apartment buildings in Keswick, which were flooded to 1.2 metres; luxury lakeside holiday accommodation at Windermere Marina Village, which also suffered extensive flood damage, and a large number of local businesses.

Our engineers and surveyors have been called in by loss adjusters to assist with fast-track strip out, drying and reinstatement work. To minimise substantial business losses, Thomasons is helping clients get key areas of their operation up and running as quickly as possible, while work continues to return premises and sites to their pre-flood condition.

Richard Levery, Director at Thomasons Manchester, says: “The impact of the floods is devastating and everyone involved is working round the clock to safeguard the future of companies and minimise business interruption claims by providing dynamic solutions and programmes to enable them to start operating again.”
