Hornsey Central Neighbourhood Health Centre, London

Thomasons was appointed as Civil and Structural Engineers for Elevate Partnerships for their £9.5M re-development of the Hornsey Central Hospital Site. The project was developed for Haringey PCT under the Barnet, Enfield & Haringey LIFT.

The development of the site was constrained by the height of the adjacent buildings. In order to minimise the floor to floor heights, a reinforced concrete flat slab frame was designed using the latest 3D finite element analysis software.

A Grade ll listed war memorial building was sited to the front of the original hospital. This structure had to be separated from the original hospital building while it was demolished and then refurbished and re-incorporated into the front of the new development.
