Wigmore Street, London

This central London project for Minerva Plc involved the demolition of the existing building whilst retaining the Victorian facades along Wigmore Street and Welbeck Street.

The two new six storey office buildings on the site are linked at ground floor level by an open courtyard. A reinforced concrete frame utilising both flat and ribbed floor slabs was erected supported on continuous flight auger piles. Due to an increase in depth of the existing basement, extensive underpinning work was undertaken around the perimeter of the site.

Extensive repairs to the existing façade and the use of new stone/brick cavity construction elsewhere has resulted in an extremely attractive development with an approximate contract value of £12m.
