Windermere Marina Village, Cumbria

Windermere Marina Village is a natural bay incorporating approximately 100 holiday homes, both privately owned and rented.

During torrential rain in November 2009, the Marina was flooded to a depth of up to 750mm, with the flood waters sweeping through ground floor of each holiday property and the other site buildings.

Thomasons was instructed to initiate a fast-track strip-out and drying-out phase. Utilising our agreed schedule of rates with approved local contractors strip-out and drying commenced almost immediately.

During the drying phase, the reinstatement was tendered so that reinstatement could commence as soon as the properties were certified dry.

The works were ultimately completed in July 2010 at an overall cost of approximately £2,000,000.00.
