Howdon Sewage Treatment Works, Newcastle

Thomasons was appointed as consulting civil and structural engineers for the sub structure and superstructure design of the new sludge treatment works buildings.

These comprised a centrifuge building which required vibrational analysis and a vehicle loading building. Both buildings were steel framed and supported on piled foundations. Reinforced concrete and piled foundations were also designed for the new silos.
