MRF & CHP Plant, Bredbury Stockport

Thomasons was commissioned by Asset & Land Group to provide civil and structural design services for a new £10M MRF and CHP plant in Bredbury, Stockport.

Thomasons was responsible for the production of the site master plan to optimise the available space on this brownfield site. The topography of this site was particularly challenging and the main client brief was to minimise off-site disposal of contaminated material and to maximise the available site area. Thomasons produced a viable scheme for the proposed site operations, in principle consisting of steep engineered embankments to maintain a relatively level plateau for the operational areas.

These porous embankments also provide a cost effective gas venting solution given the completed site will be 90% impermeable.
