Christophers Hospice for Children (CHASE), Guildford

Sometimes a project comes along that everyone wants to get involved in. The CHASE project for life-limited children was such a project.

The site, provided by a local benefactor was adjacent to the main Portsmouth - Waterloo railway line and had a high, fluctuating water level.

As well as providing a full structural and infrastructure design for the project, all of our staff entered into fund- raising events to help the project along.

The purpose-built hospice was designed to provide a home from home, where families can stay or take a much-needed break by allowing the CHASE Care Team to follow their child's routine.

In addition to nine bedrooms, there are several play and therapeutic facilities: hobbies, multi-sensory, computer and soft-play rooms; a teenage den; hydrotherapy pool and jacuzzi; sensory courtyard and outdoor play area.
