Senior Engineer/Associate

 A technical specialist to provide advice and support to the wider Thomasons project teams, including civil design guides, standards, systems and applicable engineering codes.

Scoping, preparing and managing a variety of civil engineering deliverables for small or medium sized projects, including assisting in preparation of proposals, schedules and project fees.

Ability to bring in new clients/opportunities in collaboration with Thomasons Technical Director and maintain strong working relationships with these clients

Supporting continuous improvement within the engineering team, including mentoring and developing the careers of engineers within your team.

Promoting the health and safety culture of Thomasons, driving innovation and sustainable design practices and complying with associated quality and compliance processes.

Senior Civil Engineer

Thomasons are looking to appoint a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Multidisciplinary Team based in Liverpool.  The role will involve leading on the delivery of a wide range of projects across a variety of sectors.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for the technical delivery of projects, client liaison, financial and quality management as well as supporting an monitoring junior staff.  An experienced engineer with 5+ years post grad experience gained within a engineering consultancy environment in the field of highways, drainage and general infrastructure, ideally Chartered or near Chartered preferred.

Civil Engineering Technician/Graduate Engineer

Thomasons are looking to appoint a Civil Engineering Technician/Graduate Engineer with a minimum of 2 years experience to join our expanding team based in Liverpool.  The role will involve working directly under the supervision of Senior Engineers to produce drawings and project information under Thomasons QA procedures.  The ideal candidate will have some experience in the production of drainage and highways information preferably using AutoCAD, Site 3D and microdrainage, or is prepared to undertake the required training.  In addition to a competitive salary and benefits package, Thomasons offer training, support and mentoring throughout early career development in order to obtain for staff to obtain professional qualifications.

Apprentice & Graduate Recruitment Opportunities

Each year we aim to employ a small number of apprentices and graduates with a degree in building surveying, quantity surveying and construction project management. There is no grade requirement and we place high priority on potential and attitude.

Graduates can apply to any of our offices. Training is tailored to each individual and is, from the start, based on real work projects where you can learn from some of the UK’s leading construction and property consultants.

Each apprentice or graduate is assigned an experienced mentor who offers support and guidance every step of the way through work and ongoing studies at university or college.

Work Placements

If you want to find out whether a career in construction consultancy or project management is for you, a work placement in one of our offices is a great way to start.

We offer 15-18 year old students a one-week placement during school/college holidays, with hands-on experience.

For undergraduates, we offer a summer placement. This is usually best suited to those who have completed two years at university, although we also consider outstanding first-year students.

Undergraduates should contact us by 31st December in the year before you would like to take up a placement; and school students/leavers should get in touch by 31st January of the same year of the placement.
