All Saints Church, Mackworth Derby

Following a devasting fire at the Grade I listed All Saints Church in Mackworth, Derbyshire in December 2020, Thomasons have been appointed to manage the debris removal and temporary stabilisation of the building. 2700 tonnes of imported stone have been used in the construction of a temporary haul road and crane platform on the land around the church which is designated as a Scheduled Monument.

Internally, four stone columns which were severely damaged in the fire, have been strengthened using spray applied concrete. Temporary restraint scaffolds are planned to be installed over the coming weeks as the debris from the fire is removed and painstakingly sifted for any remaining archaeological and architectural artefacts.
