Mackie Mayor shortlisted for Building of the Year
After its stunning restoration was completed in October 2017, Mackie Mayor reopened its doors to the public for the first time since 1972 as a lively food hall. Incredible attention to detail during the refurbishment led to the realisation of a captivating community space, which recently won Refurbishment Project of the Year at the Insider North West Property Awards.
The team behind the project has reason to celebrate once again as it has been shortlisted for the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce Building of the Year.
A Grade II Listed structure and one of only two intact buildings remaining from Manchester’s original fish and produce market, the community welcomed its fit out as a significant step in a local regeneration scheme.
The winner of the 2018 Building of the Year Award will be announced at a special event on 4th October in Greater Manchester.
